Structured Cabling

Many of our clients refer to this as "telephone and data cabling" or "wiring", or "drops". The phrase "Structured Cabling" is an industry term that refers to this and much more. The concept of cabling being "Structured" refers to industry accepted standards in which information outlets may be installed to provide, voice, data, and video services independent of the manufacturer, vendor, or application.

If you have a lamp plugged in to an electric outlet today, would you expect to have to rewire your house if you wanted to use that same outlet for a stereo receiver tomorrow? This is the same concept that can be applied to a Structured Cabling design and installation.

Telephony

No this isn't "tele-phony", but "tel-e-fe-nee". According to one definition "the science behind telephones: sound translated into electrical signals, which is transmitted then translated back into sound". In the Echo 24 world, we refer to our "Telephony" services as the installation, integration, programming, and support of Business Telephone Systems.

Every so often we tell someone that we install fiber optic cabling. It amazes how often people respond by asking "Oh, you guys lay cable?" That sure makes it sound easy, but it can be anything but. In fact, some of us are still waiting for that gravy job when we actually get to simply "lay a cable".

In general, this is dirty, sweaty, muddy, work, that requires a well thought out installation plan and proper tools, equipment and machinery.
